Love Island’s Jonny Mitchell reveals he was forced by producers to pursue Amber Davies to cause drama between her and Kem Cetinay
The reality hunk was made to 'redo' one scene with Amber three times and ended up rowing with bosses when he refused
FORMER Love Island star Jonny Mitchell has slammed producers for manipulating storylines amid continued speculation scenes are heavily edited.
The reality hunk has revealed he was forced to pursue a romance with Amber Davies to cause drama between her and Kem Cetinay during last year’s series.
Jonny says he was made to “redo” one particular scene with Amber three times and he ended up rowing with bosses after he “refused to have that conversation again.”
In an exclusive interview he said: “When I first went into the villa the production team were like ‘Who are you going to go for?’
“I said I had no idea because I didn’t want to tread on anyone’s toes. They asked me ‘Well, who do you like?’ and I said Amber, so they told me to "just go and speak to her.”
“I spoke to Amber but they made me redo it three times. She was obviously with Kem so it made me look awful but actually they were making me do it.”
The ex-islander has revealed he felt so uncomfortable reshooting parts of the show that there were times he said no to producers.
He said: “There would even be times I would refuse and say ‘Well, I’m not having that conversation again.’ And they would tell me ‘You have to.’ There is a lot of production involved."
Jonny, who appeared on Celebrity Big Brother after finding fame on the dating show, criticised former housemate Andrew Brady for his treatment of Love Island host Caroline Flack.
Andrew confessed to meeting Celebs Go Dating bosses a day after his relationship with Caroline collapsed – in a move Jonny describes as the “biggest c*** up of all time.”

He said: “At the end of the day if you’re setting up meetings to go on Celebs Go Dating while you’re in a relationship, it probably doesn’t bode well. It’s definitely the biggest cock up of all time.
“I like Caroline. We’re not best friends but she’s obviously seen something in Andrew and it’s not gone well."
