PAUL Gascoigne has challenged Danny Dyer to a charity boxing match - and he wants Love Island's Jack Fincham to be ringside.

After announcing he was starting a 12-week training programme for a charity fight, he soon picked out Danny as his preferred opponent.

In a now deleted tweet he wrote: "Ok just been thinking I fancy taking on @MrDDyer are you up for it soft a*** x love GAZZA @Shanewh1tfield bring it on xx.";

It was followed by: "@MrDDyer & bring your son-in-law with you @jack_charlesf with so we can sign the contract with his pens @LoveIsland xx."

The former England ace seemed to be inspired by former cruiserweight boxing champ Johnny Nelson after sharing a picture with the Sky Sports pundit.

Last week Gazza revealed his devastation for letting fans down after cancelling a meet-and-greet over claims the venue hadn't paid him.

He took to Twitter to explain to fans why he had walked out due to a row over his appearance fee at Starworks in Wolverhampton.

He claimed he waited two hours for organisers to arrive with the outstanding balance which never turned up so he was forced to leave the event on Friday.

The 51-year-old former England star said he hadn't been paid in full.

Paul said: "I am absolutely devastated. I am not going to let those people down.

“I love my fans and what has happened is disgusting. I would never let my fans down, the only person I have ever let down is myself.

“I came all the way to give them a good time and then this happens."

Football legend Paul Gascoigne proves he's 'still got it' as he enjoys street football with nephew Cameron

He added: “I have just had an operation and I managed to get ready for the event. I did that for the fans. I can’t believe all this and it’s not our fault - they have not paid. I did the best I could for all those people.”

The evening was set to include a meet-and-greet with VIPs, champagne reception and live stage question and answer session with the former football legend.
