According to the newspaper, Frank added: "Room 101 is dead. But I'm alright fiscally.

"I've done seven series'. I don't feel that I have been washed up on the shores of stand up."

The current format of Room 101 sees three celebrity faces go head-to-head in an attempt to bin their biggest pet hates in 'Room 101'.

It first hit screens in 1994 and was presented by Nick Hancock until 1999.

The original format, however, saw a showbiz guest discussing their annoyances and bugbears in a one-to-one interview.

Paul Merton took over the helm from Nick until 2007, when the programme went off air.

In 2012, Room 101 was revamped and returned with its current format of three competing guests and Frank Skinner as host.

During its 24 years on air, memorable guests include Jonathan Ross - who wanted to put his own dress sense into Room 101 - and Stephen Fry, who wanted to put Room 101 into Room 101.

Actress Sheila Hancock, meanwhile, wanted to put HERSELF into Room 101, while the late Cilla Black made an appearance in 2013.
