Celebrity Big Brother bosses ‘desperate to sign Noel Edmonds’ for new series
CELEBRITY Big Brother bosses are 'desperate' to sign Noel Edmonds for the new series.
Earlier this week, The Sun Online confirmed a number of famous faces who have already agreed to go into the house when the new series begins on August 17.
These include Cheers actress Kirstie Alley and former Towie star Dan Osborne, but with a number of spaces left to fill, bosses are in a race against time to sign up some more celebrities.
The Daily Star Sunday claims producers are desperate to secure Deal Or No Deal host Noel, 69, with a show insider saying: "Noel is one of the most recognisable faces on the box.
"He's been a household name for decades and producers know he is someone who viewers will be interested in.
"He isn't someone who can be easily convinced to do a reality show, but they're doing their best to get him to sign on the dotted line."
The source added how bosses are keen for the line-up to be the best one yet, so much so they are pushing things close to the wire in a bid to land the biggest names.
The insider explained: "Normally everything would be finalised by now.
"But for this series they are prepared to keep negotiating for as long as possible to get the best results they can."
Earlier this week, Meghan Markle's half-sister Samantha Markle confirmed she would be entering the Channel 5 house.

Talking to, Samantha, 53, said of her potential participation: "Why not. Life is about cashing in, you… take opportunities as they arise and hopefully you enjoy the ride.
"And you can make it as positive as you can, there’s nothing wrong with it. The purpose of that show would not be to discuss [Meghan].”
The theme for Celebrity Big Brother's 2018 summer series is The Eye of The Storm and is about celebrities caught up in scandals.
