Russell Brand welcomes second daughter with wife Laura Gallacher

RUSSELL BRAND’s become a dad to a second daughter after his wife gave birth to the family’s newest arrival.

The hippy comic, 43, has been posting lots on social media recently – even giving his psychological take on Love Island’s Georgia and Sam – but has kept quiet about his happy news, which happened earlier this month.

Wife Laura Gallacher, 31 – sister of presenter Kirsty – and Russell are already parents to Mabel, who will turn two in November.

A source said: “Obviously they are over the moon, and Russell will no doubt be gushing about her whenever he next performs stand-up.

“But they did not want to make a big announcement.”

The news comes after Russell and a heavily pregnant Laura were spotted strolling hand in hand last month near their home in Henley-on-Thames.

Russell has previously spoken about bringing his children up genderless, stating: “I may not even impose a gender upon it, let the child be whatever the hell it is.”

But he has since described Mabel as his “daughter”.

The comedian has also talked about the joys of fatherhood, telling Lorraine Kelly last year that he was keen to expand his brood.

Speaking on her show, he said: "Oh yeah! The actual birth bit is brilliant, surprising, amazing. I saw how mental it was. My wife’s birth was a crazy world, I was on the periphery.

"The midwives were dominating. I was scuttling around, jealous of the oxygen she was on."

Russell, who was previously married to pop star Katy Perry for 14 months, wed Laura last August after popping the question in 2016.

The couple had already been an item twice in the past when they got together after Russell's divorce, rekindling their relationship on a romantic trip to Rome.
