America’s Got Talent judges blown away by incredible 13 year old rapper Patches after he performs original rap onstage
Simon Cowell and his co-stars were left open mouthed after watching the teenager perform
SIMON Cowell and his America’s Got Talent co-stars were gobsmacked after a 13-year-old rapper performed an original song for his audition.
The smartly dressed schoolboy, who goes by the name Patches, wowed them with a song he wrote about going through the audition process on the show.
Patches, real name Maddoc Johnson, told the judges he dreamed of being on stage in Broadway.
He previously appeared for an audition last week and returned last night with another original song to try and go through to the next stage of the competition.
Standing in front of Simon, Mel B, Heidi Klum, Howie Mantel and guest judge Ken Jeong, Patches oozed confidence.
He told them: “My goal is Broadway.
“I love Hamilton. I love the stuff that Lin-Manuel Miranda is doing.”
After telling them he was performing another original, the judges wished him luck before Patches launched into his incredible song.
The teen rapped lyrics including: “People knowin' my name / My life has changed / It's never gonna be the same…”
He then gave a shout out to supermodel Heidi, telling her: “Heidi you wanted to know what's coming next / I'm just giving now more than the people expect / I'm Patches…”
She cheered as he finished the song and told him she was “honoured” by the shout out.
In the crowd, Patches mum and dad could be seen clapping along with the rest of the audience.
Despite his energetic performance, Patches didn’t get through to the next round of the competition.
Speaking afterwards, Patches told Seacoast Online: “I'm never going to forget this experience.
“It was just wonderful being out here
“Even if you were amazing in your first audition, if you don't do something new or something that was better than the last time, you're out. Like, that's it.”
Still, Heidi said she was 'very honored' by the shout-out, and called his performance 'a step up from last time'.
