Cher stars in Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again for just seven mins despite billed as top cast member
MAMMA Mia! bosses thrilled fans when they announced last year that Cher would star in the sequel.
But audiences may be disappointed when they discover just how little the singer features in the movie — and she doesn’t even arrive until well over halfway.
Despite being billed as one of the biggest stars in Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again, I can reveal Cher is on screen for just seven and a half minutes of the two-hour film.
Thankfully, young lead actress Lily James does a brilliant job at filling it with laughs — and there are plenty of great ABBA songs, even though Cher features only in two.
The brains behind Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again spent eight years working on the plot before the songwriters Bjorn Ulvaneus and Benny Andersson gave their blessing for the project. But bosses should have done their research before writing in Cher as she was dead in the original movie.
Donna says in the first film: “Somebody up there has got it in for me. I bet it’s my mother.”
It was thought they would get around it by Cher playing her mum only in flashbacks, but she portrays her in the present day.
Good job movie-goers have those classic tunes to focus on instead.

Love Island's Darylle moves Quick-enden

A source said: “Jake has been completely taken by Darylle since meeting her at his stripper show last week.

Jake’s brother Ollie passed away six years ago after a battle with bone cancer.
Darylle and Jake have been messaging since she was dumped from the villa following her week-long romance with Adam Collard, who is now seeing Zara McDermott.
Jake called off his engagement to Danielle Fogarty, daughter of motorbike ace Carl Fogarty, in April, seven months after proposing.
