Kate Garraway reveals she is having better sex in her 50s than she did in her 20s
KATE Garraway has insisted her sex life is far better now than when she was in her 20s.
In a new interview, the TV star, 51, also revealed she had a “mini crisis” when turning 50 last year.
Speaking to the , Kate admitted: “Sex now is far more enjoyable than when I was in my 20s. “Looking back on my early romantic life, I was more worried about what impression I made on my dates than what I thought of them.
“I would approach them as though they were job interviews, trying to wow the man so that he would ask me out again and I got the ‘job’.
“In hindsight, this attitude carried on into my relationships.
“I was putting on a show, doing all sorts of crazy acrobatics trying to be a great lover and look perfect at the same time: being in the right light, having my hair falling over one shoulder all my energy was going into the performance, very little into how I was feeling about the whole experience.”
Kate also opened up about her “mini crisis” when turning 50 last year.
She said: “I’d been happily married to my husband Derek Draper, 50, for 12 years, and we have two amazing children, Darcey, now 12, and eight-year-old Billy.
“So I had nothing to complain about. But 50 is a big number.
“You suddenly realise you probably have fewer years left than you have lived and the spectre of old age with all its worries looms on the horizon.”
It comes after Kate slipped off a giant bean bag and onto the lap of Love Island star Charlie Frederick live on Good Morning Britain earlier this month.
She fell about laughing as she ended up getting closer to the model than she’d planned.
The camera panned across the studio to show Kate sat with co-host Ranvir Singh and Love Island rejects Charlie, Hayley Hughes, Zara McDermott and Rosie Williams, as well as entertainment correspondent Richard Arnold on an inflatable flamingo.
Kate joked about her outfit saying: “When sitting on a giant bean bag, it’s probably best not to actually dress as the bean bag.”
However, as she spoke, the presenter started sliding down the floppy furniture and onto Charlie.
She grabbed his leg as she struggled to pick herself up off the floor and ended up in a fit of giggles with her head in her hands.
