Hollyoaks’ Jess Fox warns things will get WORSE for Nancy as wheelchair-bound MS sufferer prepares to meet her sister’s killer

The Sun Online's weekly soap column brings you exclusive interviews, the biggest soap news and all the spoilers you could need

JESS Fox has revealed that things are set to get even worse for Hollyoaks character Nancy as the wheelchair-bound MS sufferer prepares to meet her sister's killer.

Having lost sister Becka and learnt to live with her relapsing-remitting MS, the ordeal isn't over just yet, with the actress hinting that Nancy might 'drop' after 'juggling' too much in her life.

Actress Jess told The Sun Online's Soap Bubble that Nancy has taken on too much, from Fran's daughter Brooke, who is following her, to working in the restaurant, considering her illness.

She said: "Nancy obviously doesn't want anyone to ever see any weakness so she is putting on a brave face - but she's got a lot of balls to juggle, and I'm pretty sure ones going to drop very shortly."

It was revealed last week that the character would be left wheelchair-bound after collapsing, but was this the 'drop' the actress is referring to?

Mentioning her main priorities, such as her job, the 'kids' and Brooke, Jess suggests that it is something else in Nancy's life which could crumble under the pressure.

It all took a turn for the worse when Sam, the woman who murdered Nancy's sister, returns to the soap after her release wanting to make peace with the murder victim's sister.

With Sam wanting to clear her conscience, Brooke is forced to convince Nancy to cooperate and allow Sam back into her life, despite having worked hard to forget the horrific events.

Jess said: "Nancy is very shocked and doesn't really want all those memories dragging back because she worked quite hard to actually keep that under the surface."

The nature of her illness means that stress can cause an attack, and what could be more stressful than a murderer visiting your home?

The 35-year-old is aware of the difficulties of the illness, revealing to the Sun Online that she researched the illness in depth to try and be true to sufferers across the UK.

She said: "When we first embarked on the MS story line I was really shocked how many people said like 'my sister or my brother or auntie suffers with MS'.

"I didn't want to muck it up and I don't want people to be sat at home going 'that's not what it was like for me' - but we get loads of support from the MS society, who give me information.

"Our research team let me know the different stages of the illness and things, and the internet has been wonderful as I can watch a video on YouTube and try and recreate it."

But Jess is certain that it won't be a tragic end for Nancy, admitting it was her first question to bosses if her character would survive the ordeal.

"All sorts of things can spark a relapse such as stress but it's something she recovers from," Jess said.  "It will be part of her life ongoing, but people live very long and happy lives with it so hopefully Nancy will be one of them."

You can find out what happens to Nancy on Hollyoaks on Channel 4 on Friday at 7pm.
