Danny Dyer reveals he’s happy he’s quit boozing as he ‘hates’ what it does to him
The 40-year-old star refused to have a beer during his appearance on last month's Good Evening Britain
DANNY Dyer revealed he's relieved to be off the booze as he "hates" what it does to him.
The actor, 40, had a highly-publicised battle with drink last year which resulted in him taking a six-week break from EastEnders to address his issues.
Before his appearance on Good Evening Britain last month, reports Danny declined having a beer on the show and told Piers Morgan: “Not for me, I’ve been off it for 18 months since my well-documented problems.”
When asked if he missed drinking, he said: “A bit, but not really. I hate what it does to me, the way it makes me behave. Problem is, once I start, I can’t stop.”
Last year Danny's problems came to a head when he had a meltdown at the National Television Awards.
A video clip showed Danny having to be calmed by co-stars.
Witnesses told how EastEnders stars had to step in as raging Danny“kicked off” after the bash.
An onlooker who captured the dramatic scenes on her phone said: “You could tell Danny had been drinking. The whole thing lasted about 15 minutes.”
Another source said: “The actors got together as a group to rally round Danny.
“It was like they were thinking, ‘S*** we’ve got to calm him down’ because he was really kicking off.

“It was obvious he was going off on one. He was really animated. His partner was also trying to calm him at one stage as well.”
The meltdown came days before Dyer, who plays Queen Vic landlord Mick Carter, took a break from the soap to deal with his “issues”.
