RYLAN Clark-Neal has revealed his mum Linda nearly died of sepsis earlier this year.
During a discussion with Dr Ranj about the life-threatening infection, Rylan revealed how his mum was taken to hospital complaining of a bad hip.
He recalled: "My mum has severe Crohn's disease - earlier this year she was rushed to hospital moaning about her hip. My mum's 66 this month.
"And we were thinking 'Oh God, she's going to need a hip replacement' but she had septicaemia."
"And I want to say - you know 70 years of the NHS, thank you.
"Because they saved my mum's life. They said 'one more week and we could have lost her.'"
During an appearance on This Morning, he said: "She had surgery for Crohn's but something went wrong.
DEADLY CONDITION What is sepsis, what are the symptoms the condition and what are the signs in children and adults?
"She's home now. She's well. We had a nice little Mother's Day."
