ITV to launch Absolutely Ascot to rival Made in Chelsea for poshest reality show on TV
ITV are launching a brand new rival to Made in Chelsea called Absolutely Ascot.
The makers of Towie and The Real Housewives Of Cheshire will follow rich locals living in the town famous for its annual Royal horse race.
A source living in the town told the Sun’s Bizarre column filming is expected to start this summer.
They said: "Every year we have the world's stars descend on Ascot for the horse race, everyone from international royalty and film stars to all the C-listers.
“Everyone must just come in and think it's a boring little place with not much going on.
"But behind the big houses and the famous races, Ascot is one of the most valuable places in the UK, with the average house property setting you back nearly £900,000 and a healthy dose of famous locals living here over the years including Chris Evans and Girls Aloud's Sarah Harding.
"It's a great place to live with a lot of rich but not-so-famous people, there's some real characters.
“It's well deserving of landing its own TV show and will give the likes of Made In Chelsea and the rest of the country's Desperate Housewives, a run for their money."
It’s E4 rival Made In Chelsea have been shooting in Hvar, Croatia ahead of the summer’s series.
Both Louise and Sam Thompson have both recently spoken out at how the reality show and subsequent fame has affected their mental health.
He recently said: “I want to relax for a little bit. It's been two years of just madness. I have done so much.
“I've been getting a bit ill recently, I'm stressed quite a lot in terms of I haven't stopped, so I'll probably settle down and have a little game.”

Louise told the Times the show resulted in her drinking to “oblivion” due to the stresses of travel and scrutiny.
She said: "If I'm honest, I had a few instances where I thought I might have been dying.
“I have lain in bed and thought, 'I'm sure other people would go and get their stomach pumped or something’."
