The vet had viewers distracted as he reeled off his top tips for viewers to keep their pet pooches cool.

Playing with Lorraine's border terrier Angus, he said: "The easiest thing to do by far is be sensible, walk your dog nice and early in the morning and late at night."

While Rory - who has appeared on CBBC's The Pet Factor - is fairly new to TV, he is very experienced when it comes to animals and graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in 2015.

Alongside his full-time job working for The Neighbourhood Vet, he has also amassed over 24,000 followers on his Instagram account, @rorythevet.

Asked how he felt about the special day, Ross replied: "It's really surreal. You know exactly what it is like.

"It's just so many different emotions....I choke up really easily..."

Lorraine - who received an OBE in 2012 - took over, saying: "I'm not surprised, love. I cried the whole way through."
