BOOKING Dani Dyer for Love Island has turned out to be a masterstroke by ITV2 bosses – but they’ve failed in a bid to get a second Dyer in the villa.
I’m told her EastEnders actor dad Danny Dyer will not be taking part in the show’s meet-the-parents episode at the end of the month, because he has prior commitments.
Dani and her boyfriend Jack Fincham are by far the favourites to win the fourth series, along with the £50,000 prize money, after confessing their love to each other on last night’s show.
A telly source said: “Danny had booked time off work long before his daughter Dani had any inkling she would be going on Love Island.
“All his time off the soap had to be pre-booked with EastEnders to stop all the cast being off work at the same time.
“He has things already lined up during his time off, but there is a chance he could do a U-turn and change his mind to support Dani. The show has really grown on him.
“But as things stand, he has prior commitments and won’t be joining his daughter in Mallorca.”
And the actor got a mention in last night’s show when Jack’s ex, Ellie Jones, revealed the sales manager had a poster of one of Danny’s films on his bedroom wall.
Understandably, Dani was embarrassed and said: “I don’t know what film it is, but Jack has got a poster of it. Not Dad’s face.
“If it was Dad’s face I’d have to end it now – I couldn’t walk in and see my dad on top of me and him.”
Jack might need to redecorate before seeing any bedroom action from Dani.
While things are going from strength to strength for Jack and Dani, it’s more heartbreak for Georgia Steel.
She was left in bits after partner Josh Denzel decided to trade her in for new girl Kazimir Crossley – and has finally confronted him. Georgia told him: “You have no idea how much you’ve hurt me. I have never laid my cards out on the table to a guy ever and that was such a big step for me and I did that. I cannot believe what is going on.”
It’s a dating show. She should probably have seen it coming . . .
