Leslie was charged in July 2019 with sexually assaulting a woman in a London nightclub in December 2008.
The alleged victim was aged 30 at the time and is believed to have come forward to police at a later stage.
The 54-year-old will appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on July 25 to face one count of sexual assault.
A Scotland Yard statement said Leslie “was charged by postal requisition on Wednesday, 5 June with sexual touching of a woman aged 16 or over, contrary to Section 3 of the Sexual Offences Act 2003."

The 54-year-old is a former television and radio presenter best known for his work on Blue Peter and This Morning.
In 1998, he succeeded Bradley Walsh as the host of Wheel of Fortune, a role he continued to work in for the following three years.
He has also appeared in the 2003 music video Proper Crimbo alongside Matthew Wright, which was created by Leigh Francis, better known nowadays as Keith Lemon.

He also became the second Blue Peter presenter to take part in the London Marathon, following Peter Duncan.
