OUTNUMBERED actor Daniel Roche has claimed show co-stars Hugh Dennis and Claire Skinner have been “doing it for years” – after The Sun revealed their relationship last weekend.
The couple, who play stressed-out parents Pete and Sue Brockman in the BBC1 sitcom, confirmed they have been dating since March last year and are “very happy” together.
But in a cheeky outburst which could have come straight from the sit-com, Daniel, 18, who stars as their troublesome on-screen son Ben Brockman, suggested Hugh, 56, and Claire, 53, have been together for much longer.
Speaking in a Q&A session with fans which he broadcast on Instagram on Sunday night, the teen said: “Yep, the Outnumbered parents, they are together.
“They’ve been doing it for years, they’ve been going out for years. They are together, they’re having a good time. It’s all nice.”
It comes after The Sun revealed Hugh, Claire’s TV husband, is now her real-life partner after she split from husband Charles Palmer.
The mum-of-two split from TV director Charles two-and-a-half years ago – but kept it quiet and still referred to him as “my husband”.
Hugh has two children with second wife Kate Abbot-Anderson but they separated in 2015.
He opened up about his new relationship this weekend, saying: “I am very, very happy, we are so very happy…It’s nice and yes, it’s so lovely.”
Daniel, who also plays semi-professional rugby with Wasps academy, made the claims about Hugh and Claire’s romance during a live web chat while out celebrating his model pal Edie-Rose’s birthday on a boat.
