Peter Andre says it’s now grandmas who go wild over him and reveals his son Junior forced him to get his abs back

PETER Andre has revealed it's now grandmas who "love" him explaining how his fan base has matured over the years.

The Mysterious Girl singer, 45, also told ITV's Zoe Ball on Saturday that son Junior, 13, was the person to force him to get his trademark abs back.

Peter said: "Here’s something that’s changed Zoe, and I need to tell you this.

"This is how times have changed for me.  So back in the day, a girl would come up to me and say, ‘I love you Pete’.  Now, they come up and say ‘my nan loves you Pete’.

"That’s the difference from now to then.  But you’re right, they do all come to the shows, and there’s generations, sometimes three generations, it’s wonderful."

Mysterious Girl shot Peter to fame in 1996 when he was filmed showing off his glistening abs in the music video.

Peter added: "My son put me to a challenge a year ago. He saw the video of Mysterious Girl and he said ‘Dad, do you think you'll ever get those abs back?’ And I went, ‘what are you saying?’ And he's going ‘Well, let’s be honest dad, you don't look like that now.’

"And I said ‘Thanks son.’ And then he said, ‘do you think you can do it?’ And I said, ‘is that a challenge?’ And that's what got me back on the fitness. Just for fun! And I said, ‘thanks son, you've got me back into it and I feel great.’"
