James Corden is a fan of sexy bum dancing workout… and has dragged A-list pal Adele along
WITH an £8 million deal in the bag, James Corden is well and truly living the LA dream - and that includes rocking out with Adele at sexy bum dancing classes and hanging out with his new A-list mates, including Reese Witherspoon and Kate Hudson
HE made a name for himself as slovenly Smithy on Gavin and Stacey, but today a slimmed-down James Corden is living a luxury LA life worlds away from his character's old Barry Island stomping ground.
The Late Late Show host - who just secured an £8million deal to keep fronting the smash series - has shed five stone since moving Stateside... and it's all down the the "sexy bum workout" he goes to with Adele.
The loveable comic is firmly part of the LA scene now - with him and wife Julia driving matching Range Rovers and having a host of A-list friends including Cindy Crawford and Reese Witherspoon, pals told Sun Online.
The star has made no secret of his love for a Hollywood exercise class known as Plyojam - also known as the sexy butt workout.
His celebrity trainer Jason Layden told us the telly star became hooked on the dance workout after his wife brought him to a class.
Jason, Plyojam’s creator, says the class - a combination of dance and plyometrics training - is “all about booty dropping and a** shaking” and James was a huge fan from the outset.
Booty shaking with Adele
“I will never forget the first time I met James," he said. "There were 50 people in the class and he showed up with a big smile on his face in these hip-hop low pants like MC Hammer. He was ready to break dance - it was hilarious.
“He came and he was on it, he was in the front row and ready to go. He was loving it, with a big smile on his face. He came in like a regular dude, but a dude that knows how to dance.”
James may well come across like a regular dude, but there's no denying that he's firmly embedded in the glitzy world of Hollywood.
He counts Cindy Crawford and Randy Gerber among his pals and even started bringing other celebs to Jason's booty-shaking exercise classes.
“James and his wife are in the LA scene for sure,” Jason said. “He is a good friend and neighbour of Reese Witherspoon and they are friends with Kate Hudson. He also is great friends with Adele and brought her multiple times. She did a great workout each time she came.
“He liked it so much he wanted his whole crew to do it - so we did a whole Late Late Show crew workout out a couple of times"
From fat to fitness fanatic
James is so obsessed with Pylojam that he often brings friends from Britain along to classes while they're visiting him - both fellow celebs and the mates he grew up with.
And celebrity trainer Jason, who has recently brought his Plyojam workout to the UK, said that James has got into the healthy Hollywood lifestyle so much that he even tried a soup diet.
The TV star also worked out two to three times a week for an hour in the run up to presenting the Grammy's and Tony’s in 2016 and 2017, according to Jason.
But while it may sound like James has fallen into the all too common celebrity trap of constant weight watching, Jason reckons that the larger-than-life comic has managed to keep himself grounded.
“You know maybe he’s become a little more conscious out here but he doesn't seem like the kind of guy that really worries about the way he looks," he said.
“He is a funny man, people love him, his wife loves him, he is very successful.
“I don't think his size really matters I think what drew him to the workout was the fact that his wife liked it."
“When he took a class he would go all out," Jason says. "He would literally be drenched.
“He is an awesome dancer and he would go through the class and occasionally grunt and complain here and there but for the most part he loved it."
LA love affair
Jason also revealed the star and wife Julie - who have three kids together - Max, seven, Carey, three, and Charlotte, six months - often cruise around LA in matching cars.
“He doesn’t have lots of fancy cars but he and his wife have matching Range Rovers - it’s really cute," he said.
Jason adds: “James and his wife really enjoy working out together and even bring their kids sometimes.
“They would both get super into the workout and between songs run over and kiss each other. They are very much in love.
“Their favourite couple song was Want To Want Me by Jason Derulo. And James loved to bust the body roll during Black Widow by Iggy Azalea.”
As well as an entourage of famous friends and a celebrity trainer, James also has a lavish £7.3million home in the posh LA suburb of Brentwood.
The newly-renovated five bedroom, eight bathroom mansion, located in the same neighbourhood as stars Gwyneth Paltrow and Cindy Crawford and Harrison Ford, boasts a luxurious pool, spa, library and cinema room.
James recently revealed that since having three kids he doesn’t go out as often - describing eating out a restaurants with them as a “nightmare”.
But luckily their spacious pad is perfect for entertaining with large patio and in-built barbecue.
A source said: “They spent months renovating the property last year and wanted to get it ready before Julia had the baby.
“They had the garden all redone and renovations on both floors. They even had a bespoke office installed with designer furniture, an editing suite and state-of-the-art computers.
“The house is a big LA mansion with a huge pool, spa and home gym - but it still has an English feel. It’s their dream home - they love it.”
But despite his huge mansion and celebrity workout regime, exercise guru Jason, who co-created with Stacey Beaman, says James is still a “normal dude”.
“He is a very down to earth guy … he is a really nice guy who is easy to talk too."
