Inbetweeners actress Emily Atack, 28, set to cause a rumble in the jungle as she joins this year’s I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here!
EMILY ATACK had to deal with plenty of slimy characters as Charlotte in The Inbetweeners.
And she is about to face loads more, as I’m told she has signed up for this year’s I’m A Celebrity . . . Get Me Out Of Here!
The actress will fly to Australia in November to appear on the ITV series in the hopes it will boost her career.
A jungle insider said: “I’m A Celeb approached Emily a while ago and she jumped at the chance.
“She is fed up of doing indie movies and wants some stability in the UK with a big telly gig with lots of coverage.
“She knows being on the show will massively up her profile and hopes it will be a major turning point for her career.
“Bosses are thrilled she is on board because she’s absolutely stunning.
“They are hoping she will be this year’s bikini babe to recreate Myleene Klass's iconic shower in the camp waterfall from the 2006 series.”
Last night an ITV spokesman was not giving anything away, saying: “Any names at this stage are speculation.”
Emily, right, played Charlotte Hinchcliffe, the love interest of Simon Bird’s Will McKenzie, together far right, in E4’s The Inbetweeners from 2008 to 2010.
She competed in Dancing On Ice just after the comedy ended but that brief reality show stint failed to open new doors for her.
Since then she has had a series of smaller parts in independent films, including this year’s Iron Sky: The Coming Race and 2017’s Lost In Florence, but has struggled to make it on primetime telly.
Emily will have no qualms about stripping off in the jungle — or for any future roles — after revealing she wants young women to feel inspired by seeing “normal” bodies on screen.
She said: “I feel really strongly about a push for more normal role models than glamorous models.
“I just think it’s healthier because sometimes we look to movies and it’s not real life.”
Plenty of her I’m A Celeb campmates will be pleased about that, too.
Elton's bash woke his posh neighbours
IT was less Candle In The Wind and more burning the candle at both ends at Elton John's garden party.
The superstar kept his well-heeled Windsor neighbours, including Radio 2’s Chris Evans, up into the early hours with his Aids Foundation’s 25th birthday bash on Wednesday.
On his breakfast show yesterday, Chris, who must have been hoping his invite got lost in the post, said: “So last night I can hear some music in the distance. I can hear Club Tropicana as loud as their stereo will play.”
After joking about the police turning up at Elt’s he added: “Anybody around the Windsor area who can see people still leaving Elton John’s house for the showbiz walk of shame let us know.”
Guests included Victoria Beckham and Elizabeth Hurley, Nicole Scherzinger and Ed Sheeran, wearing an Iceland shirt with Elton and his husband David Furnish.
Ed performed for the 440 guests at Elton’s old Windsor home.
Victoria was also joined by son Brooklyn, who she helped get ready for the party.
The Foundation, which is dedicated to reducing the spread of HIV and Aids, raised £4.4million on the night. Any sleepless nights sound worth it.
Charmer Claptone is still fantast-ic
MYSTERIOUS masked DJ and producer Claptone continues to delight house music fans across the world while keeping his identity shrouded in secrecy.
But he’s bared all about the making of his second album Fantast, which dropped this month, in an exclusive video which you can watch below.
It brings together some almighty talent, including a collaboration with Bloc Party's Kele Okereke.
In the chat, Claptone – who wore his trademark mask and spoke through a voice changer – says: “As far as I can remember I’ve never been without the mask. There’s no-one behind the mask – that’s just my face.
“I’ve never felt the curse of the second album. I was constantly DJing the last three years and worked on the album on the side – maybe that’s why I didn’t feel pressure. On the contrary, it felt like freedom to work on this album and mentally travel from every day and night’s DJ sets.
“It’s a fantastic voyage.”
Debut album Charmer might have scored over 60million streams, but Fantast delves deeper into the art of Claptone’s songwriting – well worth a spin.
New track for Rak-Su
AT LAST, X Factor winners RAK-SU are finally dropping some new music – but it’s not a single, just a teaser track of what’s to come.
The band – from left, Myles Stephenson, Ashley Fongho, Jamal Shurland and Mustafa Rahimtulla – have collaborated with hot duo Banx and Ranx for Pyro Ting, which fans can hear today.
Rak-su have also been busy working on their own material and have been in the studio with top producers Stephen McGregor, Wayne Hector and Jamie Scott.

MARK RONSON has worked with Bruno Mars and Amy Winehouse and he’s signed up another music legend – Chaka Khan.
He has teamed up with the Queen of Funk on a tune titled Keep Reaching, which will feature on a Netflix documentary about legendary producer Quincy Jones.
At a celebration of Quincy’s 85th birthday at London’s The O2 on Wednesday, Mark said: “We watched the film. We laughed and cried, and cried some more. It’s amazing.
“One of the things that we came away with is all of this man’s achieve- ments, not only musically but as a humanitarian.
“We wrote this song in tribute to him and it’s called Keep Reaching.
“On the recorded version we got to do it with the wonderful Chaka Khan.”
I’m sure he’s had worse party gifts.
Lorra degree
LORRAINE KELLY missed her morning show yesterday for a doctor’s appointment – as she became one.
The Sun columnist got an honorary doctorate from Edinburgh Napier University, two years after her daughter Rosie graduated from there.
Fortunately her actual degree is not as big as the jokey super-sized one she is pictured holding.
Lorraine told her TV stand-in Christine Lampard: “I do feel a little bit bad because all these amazing young people have worked for years to get their degree.
“I didn’t go to university and here I am getting a degree without doing any work at all. I’m thrilled. It’s a lovely honour.
She certainly deserves it.
