KATHERINE Heigl has apologised for taking selfies in front of gravestones and posting them on Instagram.
She took the bizarre pictures and put them online on Sunday night – prompting an outcry from her fans.
Katherine, 39, was visiting the grave of her brother who passed away in a car accident aged 16.
During her visit to the cemetery with husband Josh Kelley, 38, she posed for a series of pictures.
After removing the snaps, Katherine apologised in a video and posted it online.
The Knocked Up actress said: “I noticed on my Instagram page that the post I posted earlier was getting a lot of reaction, and I realised you guys are right.
“It was not appropriate and it was disrespectful and I've taken it down.
“It’s kind of a heavy thing to go and visit my loved ones' graves, and I decided to find some moments of levity and humour and didn’t realise how inappropriate I was being.
“I deeply apologise and I thank you guys for understanding that sometimes I don’t think things through clearly enough and I am grateful for your input and for giving me a heads up when I’m maybe going too far.”
She added: “Thank you for forgiving me. Next time I will be more thoughtful about other people’s feelings and not just my own.”
The pictures posted online by Katherine included her grinning and pointing at a statue of an angel.
Another showed her husband posing next to a gravestone with his last name engraved onto it.
Katherine also took a picture of herself next to grandfather’s grave.
