As the weekly instalment came to a close, Caroline was interrupted by a siren that signalled an incoming message.

When the panel jumped in shock, Caroline screamed: "Oh my God, hang on. What's this?"

The 38-year-old host then proceeded to read aloud the on-screen message: "Miss Flack, your services are required in the villa. Please board the next plane to Love Island."

With the studio audience bursting into applause at the promise of upcoming drama, Caroline gushed: "Oh wow. I need to pack my bags I think."

While producers decided to keep details about the shock twist a secret, the military style announcement could suggest a secret mission for the contestants.

Thrilled viewers flocked to social media to share their theories on what's in store on Love Island.

One tweeted: "I'm guessing the ex's are coming but in a separate villa, some of the islanders go there to see if they get tempted."

A second viewer tweeted: "Thinking a couple going in or the ex's thing... really hope they don't put ex's in though. If I wanted that I'd watch Ex On The Beach."

Another Love Island fanatic put: "The Flack is on her way to the villa which means one thing - it's going to get interesting."

Other viewers speculated that Love Island bosses might mix the contestants with the currently ongoing Australian version of the hit dating show.
