Love Island fans share hilarious memes to mock Alex George’s ‘horrendous’ chat-up lines about cars and ironing
LOVE Island's Dr Alex George had viewers squirming with a string of deadpan chat up lines in last night's episode.
Bombshells Ellie Brown and Zara McDermott landed in the paradise villa and the 27-year-old swooped in almost immediately to charm the gorgeous girls.
However, the love shy doctor's attempt at flirting had fans cringing after he told government worker Zara, 21, he loves to vote, and former car saleswoman Ellie, 20, that he loves cars.
Viewers couldn't believe their ears and flocked to Twitter to mock the South London based doctor - letting comedy memes do the talking.
One tagged Alex in a picture of Anchorman's Brick Tamland and his famous line from the movie, "I love lamp".
Another compared him to awkward emo teen Damien from Mean Girls.
A third sympathised with him and said: "Alex's chat up lines tonight were what I am like on a date. 'I used to sell cars', oh, 'I love cars'.
"See if Alex doesn't get a date tomorrow night I will explode in anger."
Alex set out his game plan in the beach hut ahead of meeting Ellie and Zara.
He told viewers at home: "It's double trouble isn't it? There's two girls coming in, hopefully one of them's the right one. Or both. No joking, just one will do!
"The tactic this time is to get to know both of them very, very quickly. If one of the girls is right for me, then go for it."
And though he may have missed the mark with people at home, his magic worked on one of the women.
His co-star Jack Fincham accidentally dropped a massive spoiler when he appeared live on the ITV2 spin-off show Aftersun last night.
Jack appeared alongside his partner Dani Dyer and were happily filling in Caroline Flack and the audience on how everything was going.

Without hesitation, Jack said: “Alex has gone on a date and everything…and he’s gone for a kiss!”
Dani laughs and interrupts him, saying: “Don’t give away too much!”
Although he’d dropped a clanger, Jack was careful not to name who Dr Alex had got lucky with.
