Love Island star Shannen Reilly McGrath’s jailed boyfriend Daniel ‘Dano’ Doyle ‘fighting for life’ after being found ‘unconscious’ in prison
THE jailed boyfriend of a Love Island star is fighting for life in hospital after being found unconscious in his prison cell.
Drug-dealing actor Daniel 'Dano' Doyle, who is dating model Shannen Reilly McGrath, was rushed to Dublin's Mater Hospital in the early hours of yesterday.
Another inmate was also rushed for medical treatment from Dublin's Mountjoy Prison.
Shannen, 24, appeared as a contestant on the 2017 series of Love Island, and has also been linked to cage fighter CJ Meeks and CBB's Jeremy McConnell.
Fitness model Doyle, from Ballymun in Dublin, served as an extra on the hit crime drama Love/Hate — but was given a two-year sentence for drug dealing.
He was jailed in February after being caught with 446 MDMA tablets in November, 2014.
Prison officers who found Doyle went to his aid and called paramedics.
He was stabilised at the scene and then rushed to hospital where efforts to save his life continued through the day.
It's suspected he consumed some bad drugs, though it is unclear what ti was exactly that he ingested.
Speaking on Instagram after her boyfriend was rushed to intensive care, Shannen desperately prayed for him to recover.
"We have had our ups and downs but you can't help who you fall in love with or who you love," she wrote.
"I never ever stopped loving Dano no matter what happened between us. So I don't care what anyone's opinions are.
"I was back with him before this devastating news and I'd do anything in the world for him. I am praying he fights his way through this.
"He is a fighter and I know he can. We've too much planned and he's too much to live for."
She went on: "He's the love of my life and always will be. I've never loved anyone the same I love him and no one has and will never compare to him.
"Please pull through, I am begging God to fix this mess if there is one up above.
"I love you and I know you know just how much I do."
