Lucy Mecklenburgh has a sleepless night after split with Ryan Thomas – but he posts gushing tribute about staying friends in the future

LUCY Mecklenburgh admitted she's been struggling to sleep following her split from Ryan Thomas.

The Towie star turned fitness guru today told her Twitter followers she had spent the night "over-thinking", after The Sun revealed her recent break-up from the ex Corrie actor. 

The 26-year-old beauty also turned to Nelson Mandela for an inspirational quote, while over on Ryan's Instagram story the soap star gushed about the former flames staying good friends.

Sharing a post on her Twitter that read: "Dear mind, please stop thinking so much at night. I need to sleep," Lucy wrote: "Ever had one of those nights."

Hinting she's on to bigger and better things, the reality star then shared a quote from the late Mandela which read: "There is no passion to be found playing small—in settling for a life that is less than the one you are capable of living."

But it was a different story on Ryan's Instagram page as the Neighbours actor shared a jovial throwback snap of Lucy and pal Brooke Vincent.

"Can't wait for the next adventure with these two lunatics," the star wrote alongside a picture of Lucy and Brooke sitting on a jeep during a previous holiday.

Their flurry of messages came just hours after The Sun revealed the pair had called time on their relationship after an explosive row earlier this week.

Pals are said to be stunned by the break-up as they expected ex-Towie star Lucy and Ryan, who recently appeared in the Australian soap opera Neighbours, to go the distance.

A source revealed: “Ryan and Lucy have been a really lovely couple and things had been great between them.

“It’s a real shock. They had a massive row this week and called it quits on the spot, which will come as a massive surprise to everyone who knows them because they’ve seemed so loved-up."

“Their friends hope it might still work out again in the future, but who knows if that will be possible.”

The revelation came just days after Lucy posted a snap of the pair snogging at the Parklife music festival in Manchester while celebrating Ryan’s 34th birthday.

Lucy seemed loved-up, including a heart emoji on the Instagram picture.
