Lucy Mecklenburgh shares shocking throwback pic with skinny Ryan Thomas after extreme starvation caused her to lose two stone filming The Island
LUCY Mecklenburgh has shocked her fans after sharing an alarming picture of her malnourished body.
The former Towie star, 26, posted a throwback snap of her and boyfriend Ryan Thomas' skinny frames when they filmed Celebrity Island in August last year.
Their time on the show caused the pair to lose a considerable amount of weight - and become a couple in the process.
Lauren wrote: "One year ago today we completed the hardest mental & physical challenge of our lives!
"An entire month on a deserted island 🏝 although we experienced extreme starvation, horrendous sand fly bite discomfort and a serious lack of sleep we overcame fears, gained confidence and pushed our bodies & minds to the absolute limit.
"I never thought it was possible but I’m proud to this day of us all!!! #beargrylls #theisland PS it took me 3 weeks to put 2 stone back on!!!";
And Lucy's fans couldn't get over how skinny she became - and they're glad she put her weight back on.
One wrote: "Way too skinny Lucy!!!! Thank goodness she put some weight back on.";
Another said: "I love the fact you gained the weight back in a healthy way and didn’t lose anymore!"
However, a third said: "Well done for doing it and all that but it is actually possible to take photos with clothes ON !! Pretty obvious you would lose weight but do you really need to show it?"
It was recently rumoured that that former Coronation Street star Ryan could be about to pop the question as after he was seen buying a diamond ring.
A source said: “He has spent a lot of time, trouble and cash.
“When a man buys a diamond ring for his girlfriend, it usually means one thing — marriage.
“It is clear they are in love and have a lot of fun when they are together.”
In April, the couple went on holiday with his daughter Scarlett, nine, for the first time.
Lucy has previously dated Mark Wright, while Ryan dated fellow Corrie star Tina O’Brien for six years from 2003.
The former couple had daughter Scarlett but split when she was a year old.
