Not quite wight – Jonathan Ross mocked by Siri because he can’t pronounce the letter R
JONATHAN Ross was mocked by virtual assistant Siri because he can’t pronounce the letter R.
The presenter, 57, asked the voice-prompted Apple service to set a reminder in his diary to call Radio 2.
But it misunderstood due to the star’s speech impediment which renders “R” as “W” and noted Ross’s command down as “call Wadey 02”.
The dad of three, once the BBC’s best-paid star, posted screenshots online to reveal the misunderstanding and joked: “This is just hurtful.”
One fan with the same speech difficulty said he was “crying with laughter” at Ross’s tweet.
Another said: “It made my day.” Ross, whose Twitter handle is “Wossy”, a good-natured nod to his speech quirk, did an afternoon stint all last week on Radio 2.
Many fans suggested that was the reason he asked Siri to remind him to make the 10am call.
Ross, who left the Beeb in 2010, faced another comedy moment when he reached the studio.

He was issued with a temporary studio pass to Wogan House near the BBC’s Broadcasting House in Central London — in the name of Jonathan Frost.
The chat show host posted a picture of it on Twitter with the words: “I’m standing in for Steve Wright all this week. At least I think I am.”
