Stephen Mulhern says he doesn't know if Britain's Got Talent bosses will tighten up security during tonight's show after a stage invader interrupted the programme last night

During today’s episode of This Morning, Britain’s Got More Talent host Stephen addressed the incident and made it clear everyone felt nervous ahead of tonight's show.

He explained: “The judges got a shock. It was a bit bizarre and it changed the atmosphere.

“You know, we’ve gone from a studio with 500 people to a theatre with 3,000. It will be interesting to see if the security is tightened up but who knows.”

Head judge Simon flicked the V sign to the person who had run into the auditorium and Stephen confirmed the music mogul was angry.

The impostor was chased by a member of the show's security as he ran to the judges' table and pressed their buzzers

He explained: “Of course [he was angry]. You don’t want to put it out there that guy could have done anything really.

“It was a shock to everybody. Let’s see what happens [tonight].”

It isn't the first time the show has had to deal with a stage invader, as back in 2013, musician Natalie Holt threw eggs at Simon, a year after competing on the programme.

Meanwhile his other hit show, The X Factor has also seen a number of impostors break on to the stage during live performances.

Stephen said the atmosphere changed after the incident and said Simon Cowell was angry it had been allowed to happen
