Fans of the show were left fuming when it cut to ads shortly after returning following a massive technical blunder

BRITAIN’S Got Talent viewers were left outraged tonight when the show cut to an ad break just minutes after returning from a major blackout.

Fans of the show were furious when host Declan Donnelly announced they would be stopping the live semi-final for commercials after coming back on air following the technical troubles.

BGT went off air for almost 15 minutes in a massive technical blunder due to the stormy weather which hit London tonight.

Viewers were left looking at a blank screen after the show disappeared due to a fault.

The show eventually returned and carried on as usual, but just minutes later host Dec, who is hosting solo without Ant McPartlin, said: “And we will be right back.”

Viewers flocked to Twitter to ask: “Are you sure?”

Many were furious that ITV bosses decided to go to add so soon after getting the show back on air.

One wrote: “A break? Wtf they just had about a 10 min break 😳 #BGT.”

Another addeD: “Could they not of skipped the break and went onto next act its just come back on ffs #BGT

Adverts already? Really?! 😂 #BGT.”

A third commented: “A break?! Was the signal disruption not enough of a break for you all?!

“#BGT #BritainsGotTalent.”

During the black out, an ITV announcer said: “We’re having some issues – we hope to return to the show as soon as possible.

“We hope to return as soon as possible and we are working to fix the issue.”

Bosses had to show old footage of the auditions to fill the gap.

After more than five minutes, BGT finally returned and host Dec had to apologise for the mishap.

He blamed the issues on the bad weather in London.

Dec said: “Welcome, back the weather has caused some technical difficulties so apparently some of you didn’t get this at home.”

Simon then made a joke, poking fun at Dec and blaming him for taking the show off-air.

He said: “You’re coming back next year, you didn’t have to do that.”

This year’s live shows are coming from the Hammersmith Apollo in London.

It’s the first time the series has ever come from a location other than a TV studio.
