Emmerdale fans heartbroken for Ross Barton as Debbie Dingle finally admits she caused his acid attack
Viewers have known for a while that Debbie Dingle was responsible for the acid attack on Ross Barton
DEBBIE Dingle has finally confessed that she was behind Ross Barton's acid attack leaving Emmerdale fans in tears for the mechanic.
The busineswoman - who is played by actress Charley Webb in the ITV soap - made an emotional bedside confession to a horrified Ross after he accidentally shot her last night.
Viewers watched as a vengeful Ross thought he had learned the truth and planned to kill Joe Tate.
Unfortunately he got the wrong end of the stick and assumed Joe paying Simon, who actually carried out the attack, £100,000 meant that he had ordered it.
But instead of killing Joe, he ended up accidentally shooting Debbie and despite Joe trying to cover for Debbie, she confessed all to Ross leaving him horrified.
"It wasn't Joe, it was me," she said.
"I'm sorry Ross, please, I need to explain what happened, she added as she burst into tears and became hysterical.
"Please Ross don't go, I need to explain this, please no."
Ross threw himself away from Debbie and ran out of the hospital looking utterly bereft at what he had heard.
Rushing off, he still doesn't know that the acid attack was a mistake and that Debbie didn't actually mean him any harm at all.
Viewers were utterly heartbroken for Ross and flocked to social media to share their sadness.
One wrote: "Omg Ross knows the truth."
Another added: "Maybe this confession will make Ross realise once and for all and Debbie no longer loves him and never will again!"
