MARCEL Somerville almost bagged a role as Celebs Go Dating's "love guru" but lost the job after cheating on girlfriend Gabby Allen.
The Sun revealed that Gabby dumped Marcel after discovering he bedded another woman behind her back while they were on holiday together.
The Love Island star has reached out to his former girlfriend but says she won't answer his calls.
Marcel was known for offering advice to his fellow Love Islanders during last year's series which sparked the phrase: "Paging Doctor Marcel".
He even released a book called Dr. Marcel's Little Book of Big Love after dishing out advice in the villa.
His reputation as a "love guru" almost landed him a role on Celebs Go Dating alongside Nadia Essex but he was sacked after his cheating ways came to light.
A source told The Sun Online: "The team at Celebs Go Dating thought Marcel would be a perfect fit for the show and would be the ideal person to give the celebs some advice.
"He was great on Love Island and everyone loved his Dr. Marcel moments.
"Marcel was in talks with producers but when it came out that he had cheated on Gabby, he was quickly dropped."
The Sun Online contacted Celebs Go Dating for comment and Marcel's rep said she did not wish to comment.
The Sun revealed earlier this week that the new series will have a jam packed line-up with newly single Katie Price looking for love on the show.
Other names being mooted include Hollyoaks actress Chelsee Healey, former Celebrity Big Brother star Perez Hilton and wrestler Hulk Hogan’s daughter Brooke.
Producers are believed to have had the most approaches from celebrities ever to be part of the E4 series.
A TV source said: “The show had its highest rating ever for its last series so producers are aiming higher as it gets bigger.

“Celebrities are yet to meet with producers but these are the people they’ve got their eye on and there’s a real possibility they’ll be part of the line-up.
“The show will be more international too with the likes of Perez and Brooke possibly flying over.”
The new series will be the first without dating expert Eden Blackman after he quit the show earlier this year.
