The singer struggled to understand why Joey was still famous after leaving the reality show
FUN Lovin' Criminals frontman Huey Morgan has revealed Joey Essex once tried to befriend him in a hotel - but he had no idea who he was.
The singer, 49, confessed the concierge had to explain who the reality star was but Huey was still unimpressed.
Speaking on his Huey Off The Record podcast he said: "I was in a hotel I was checking into my wife my wife and son.
"He came up to me and was like 'Hey, what's up man?', but I had no idea who he was. The concierge explained it to me later."

Huey added: "But this guy hasn't been on TOWIE show for some time and I'm like 'What does this mother-f****r do now?
"At least I can play an instrument or produce a record."
Joey left Towie in 2013 after starring in the show for two years alongside his cousin Chloe Sims and sister Frankie Essex.
However, his fame doesn't seem to have got him on Huey's radar, despite his exploits on TV.
