Born 31 December 1937, Sir Phillip Anthony Hopkins is a Welsh actor, widely considered to be one of the greatest of his generation.
The 80-year-old, who was born in Margam, Port Talbot, trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London where he was spotted by Laurence Olivier.
His breakthrough role came as Richard the Lionheart in the Academy-Award winning The Lion in Winter before his legendary career in film began.
Since 2016, he can also be seen in the critically acclaimed TV series, Westworld.
Sir Anthony only has one child, Abigail, from his marriage to his former wife, Petronella Barker.
On May 22, 2018 he revealed he doesn't talk to his daughter and they are estranged.
What awards has Anthony won?
Anthony won the Academy Award for Best Actor in 1992 for his performance as Hannibal Lecter and has also been nominated a further three times.
Throughout his career, he has also scooped two Emmys, three BAFTAs, and the Cecil B. DeMille Award, which was most recently won by Oprah Winfrey.
In 1993, Anthony was knighted by Queen Elizabeth for his services to the arts.

King Lear will air Monday, May 28, 2018, on BBC Two.
As Amazon studios are co-producing, they will be showing the film in the US and Germany and it will also be available on Amazon Prime Video in the UK following its airing on the BBC.
