The residents of Weatherfield had better watch their backs in Coronation Street next week as cobbles killer Pat Phelan makes his long awaited return – and he’s got revenge on his mind.
It’s Eileen Grimshaw, played by Sue Cleaver in the ITV soap, who has the first run in with her presumed-dead husband when she spots two men clearing out her house.
Confused, she asks what they’re playing out and they say someone called Pat booked a house clearance and gave them a key. Yikes.
Then, locked in the office at work, Eileen is chilled when her mobile rings and – when she answers it – she hears Phelan’s voice.
Steve McDonald finds a terrified Eileen locked in the cab office and when she tells him what’s happened, he makes her call the police.
But when she admits she heard her dead husband’s voice on the phone, the cops suggest someone with a grudge could have lifted the voice from a voicemail.
Eileen panics when she thinks someone could hate her enough to do that. Buckle up Eileen, love, that ain’t even the half of it.
It’s Faye Windass who suggests Phelan could still be alive after a brick is thrown through Eileen’s window but the police say they have no reason to believe he’s not dead – meanwhile, Eileen’s phone rings again and we see the caller lurking in the ginnel.
Elsewhere Gary Windass’ suspicions are raised when his baby-mama Nicola Rubinstein starts telling him about a new mum friend she’s met online.
