BRITAIN’S Got Talent hopeful Lifford Shillingford already has a foot up in the competition – as he’s had a top 10 hit in the past.
He rose to fame as a singer with Artful Dodger – and is already pals with judge Alesha Dixon.
We’ll see Alesha reveal that she knows Lifford and he confirms that they went on tour together in the past.
On tonight’s show we’ll see Lifford wooing the judges by singing A Change Is Gonna Come by Sam Cooke.
Lifford’s excited wife supports him from the side of the stage.
Lifford reveals that he reached the big time in the late 90s with Artful Dodger as the singer on Please Don’t Turn Me On.
The song reached number four in the UK charts in 2000, spending ten weeks in the charts.
Lifford revealed that he appeared on Top Of The Pops and Jools Holland.
He said: “We just felt like superstars.”
However he also admits that fame wasn’t smooth sailing and he went on to suffer with depression and anxiety as he cracked under the pressure.
Lifford is clearly excited about appearing on the show tonight.
Earlier on today he wrote on Twitter: “Exciting Day #GoodMood #GoingToBeAGreatDay #StayTuned”.
You’ll have to tune in tonight to see if the singer makes it through to the next stage of the competition.
