Entebbe has tension but muddles the message and loses its way
Rosamund Pike and Daniel Bruhl play the terrorists who hijacked an Air France plane en route to Israel in 1976
ROSAMUND Pike and Daniel Bruhl play the German Revolutionary Cells terrorists who hijacked an Air France plane en route to Israel in 1976.
They think they are safe after landing at Entebbe airport in Uganda, where they have the support of crazed dictator Idi Amin.
Previous films about this event have focused on the daring military operation to free the hostages. But this Working Title film, is driven by the tension between the misguided revolutionaries, their terrorist comrades and the terrified passengers.
Unfortunately, admirable efforts to cram in various important players leads to the central characters being shunted and a message which is almost as muddled as the thinking of the militant revolutionaries.
