Is Meryl Streep in Mamma Mia 2?
When the first trailer for Mamma Mia 2 was released just before Christmas 2017, fans were left wondering, where is Meryl Streep?
There was no new footage of Meryl's character Donna Sheridan in the trailer, characters referred to her in the past tense, and Donna's daughter Sophie seemed to express her distress at needing to raise her daughter "on her own" (ie, without her mother).
The final trailer dropped on May 8, 2018, which also featured Meryl in the past tense.
However, Meryl was on the new movie poster - leaving fans to breathe a sigh of a relief that she was appearing in some way in the new movie.

Why does Lily James play Meryl's character Donna as a young woman?
Lily plays Meryl's character Donna as a young woman the movie will throwback to her reliving those months on the fictional island of Kalokairi.
Fans of the first film will remember this is when Donna fell in love with Sam, Harry and Bill all at the same time.
In the new movie Donna's daughter Sophie (Amanda Seyfried) visits the island and tries to rebuild and relaunch a hotel in her mother's honour.

Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again is OUT NOW - after being released in UK cinemas on July 20, 2018.
In Mid-December 2017, the production team had announced they had wrapped on the film.
The last film was released on July 10, 2008.
