MAMMA Mia! fans have been treated to the final trailer and poster for the hit movie's sequel - 10 years after the original was released.

Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again hits cinemas this summer and sees Amanda Seyfried reprise her role as Sophie Sheridan in the hugely-anticipated flick.

The movie also sees original cast members Colin Firth, Pierce Brosnan and Stellan Skarsgard take on the roles of Sophie's fathers once more, while Dominic Cooper plays her fiance Sky.

There are some new faces too - in the form of legendary singer Cher, who plays Sophie's grandmother Ruby, and 29-year-old English actress Lily James.

Lily stars in the film as a young Donna - Sophie's mother - as it is both a prequel and a sequel.

But although Donna was played in the original Mamma Mia! by Meryl Streep, the only time the Hollywood actress features in the new trailer is in several flashbacks to the first movie.

Fans have been worried that Donna has been killed off, so her absence has not helped the rumours.

Nevertheless, she DOES feature in the new promo poster and Amanda recently insisted in an interview: "You do see her. She's, Meryl is very much a part of this movie.

"No, there are absolutely no flashbacks. No, because all the 'flashbacks' are of Lily [James] playing Donna.

"So it's a prequel and a sequel, and so you see Meryl is very much a part of it."

Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again will see Sophie and Sky discover they are expecting their first child together.

In the new trailer dropped by Universal Pictures, Amanda's character can be heard referencing her mother by saying: "I have never felt closer to mum.

"I'm in the exact same place she was all those years ago."

In light of the baby news, Sophie's three fathers - Sam, Harry and Bill - all return to Greece to celebrate and support their daughter throughout her pregnancy.

Donna's close friends, Tanya - played again by Christine Baranski - and  Rosie - Julie Walters - are also on hand to help out.

However, the movie takes a twist when Sophie makes an effort to find out exactly how her mother met her fathers.

Taking on the role of young Donna as the story goes back in time, Lily can be seen in the trailer expressing her desire to move to Greece.

She says: "There's an island, Kalokairi. People used to think if you sailed on from there you would fall off the edge of the world.

"That sounds like the place for me."

It then shows Donna hanging out with a young Christine and Rosie, while also getting close to Sam, Harry and Bill.

Like the first film, Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again features a catalogue of hits by Swedish band ABBA.

It is released in the UK on July 27, 2018.
