A BLUNDERING trade minister has given a taxpayer-funded grant to a punk band with an explicit song attacking Theresa May.
Shame got thousands to help their careers but had crudely insulted the PM.
The London group’s song Visa Vulture was accompanied by an image of Mrs May with fangs.
Singer Charlie Steen’s rantings ask whether she has a conscience and include sexual references.
Baroness Fairhead gave the grant from the Government’s Music Export Growth Scheme.
Export Promotion minister Baroness Fairhead said the scheme was designed to help “nurture musicians of the future to explore new global markets”.
Grants range from £5000 to £50,000, and are handed to artists who apply and are approved by a panel of industry experts.
