FERNE McCann has admitted fears daughter Sunday would "resent" her if she didn't take her to visit jailed dad Arthur Collins.
Speaking on today's Loose Women, the former Towie star, 27, addressed her decision to let acid attacker Collins see their seven-month-old daughter, despite originally vowing she would never grant him the opportunity.
Ferne confessed: "I got seen taking Sunday into the prison because he asserted his parental rights so I didn't really have a choice.
"As soon as that happened I sought legal advice, I went to see a child psychologist and whilst Sunday hasn't got a choice or a voice I feel like I have to make that decision for her.
"I think, for me, that is the toughest thing about being a new parent. You have to make a decision on behalf of someone else that could completely shape their future."
Straight-talking panellist Janet Street-Porter, 71, then asked Ferne if she feared her daughter would one day turn against her if she refused her the right to see her dad.
Ferne explained: "All of these things have crossed my mind. When I went to see the child psychologist they actually said that it can cause more problems when a parent refuses the child to see another parent.
"It can cause problems in the future with relationships and things like that.
"I'm confident in my decision and a decision has been made.
Arthur Collins was sentenced to 20 years in prison for his involvement in a nightclub acid attack which left 14 people injured.
He is currently being held in HMP Full Sutton, York, meaning Ferne and Sunday have to travel a 440 mile round trip to visit him.

Ferne was on the show to discuss the return of her fly on the wall show First Time Mum, which will air tonight.
Revealing what fans can expect from the new series, she dished: "I'm really nervous, but I'm so excited. It's basically just following me being a mum now, the highs and lows.
"We filmed three shows in eight weeks so it's full on, but they have captured reality at it's best. I'm juggling work life with being a new mum and, yes, it's hard but I also feel it's a lovely legacy for me and Sunday."
