Why did Frankie Goes To Hollywood split? And what were their biggest songs?

The band was set up in the mid 80s, with Holly calling the band Frankie Goes To Hollywood after seeing a headline in a newspaper about Frank Sinatra .

Holly became a household name because of the phenomenal success of the band's debut single Relax, which was a huge, and controversial, hit in 1984.

But by 1986, Frankie Goes to Hollywood's star started to fade as they hadn't released any material since early 1985 and they were missed off the bill at Live Aid that year.

By 1987 Holly's relationship with the rest of the band had broken down and the band split.

The band's songs were:

  • Two Tribes
  • Relax
  • The Power of Love
  • Welcome to the Pleasuredome
