Is Michelle Connor leaving Coronation Street?
Michelle Connor, played by Kym Marsh, looked set to become Pat Phelan's fifth victim when he shoot her on her wedding day.
Her husband-to-be Rob, played by Tristan Gemmill, attempted to protect her but she was shot in the stomach in the back of the Bistro.
The shocking scenes aired on Friday (June 1) but were so gory they had to be aired after 9pm.
Fortunately, the actress revealed that Michelle will pull through as she's just signed a new year-long contract with the show.
Although Kym did tease fans in an appearance on This Morning when she confessed her statement on having a new contract could have been a "red herring."
The actress remained coy, saying: "Well there's been reports that it was renewed."
Before suggestively adding: "But is it a red herring? Just saying!"
How is Michelle Connor related to Carla Connor?
Michelle is Carla Connor's ex-sister in law and long-time friend.
Carla's maiden name is Donovan but she became Connor when she married Michelle's brother Paul.
Paul Connor died in a car crash in 2007.
Michelle is also the second cousin (once removed) of Johnny Connor and third cousins of Johnny's children Aidan and Kate.

Who are Michelle Connor's sons?
Michelle Connor's biological son is Ali Neeson who's father was her late partner Dean.
When he was born there was a mix-up at the hospital with him and Ryan - the son of Nick and Wendy Neeson.
Ali returned to Weatherfield when he was 15 and the truth was revealed so Ryan started to visit his biological parents.
Michelle also tried to pursue a relationship with Ali but after this caused tension between her and Ryan she asked Wendy to take him back and he vowed to never see her again.
In 2018 Ali returned to the cobbles as the new doctor at the surgery and was beginning to get on with Michelle...until he slept with Carla (his ex-aunt through marriage).
Michelle also had a son Ruari with her ex-husband Steve McDonald.
However, Ruari was born prematurely at 23 weeks and died shortly after he was born.
