EastEnders’ Michelle Fowler leaves Walford after proving she didn’t abuse Hunter Owen
The former teacher left Walford after realising she needed to go somewhere else to rebuild her life
MICHELLE Fowler has officially left EastEnders - after clearing her name of abusing Hunter Owen.
The former teacher - who is played by actress Jenna Russell in the BBC soap - left Walford after realising she needed to go somewhere else to rebuild her life.
"I can't do this no more," she said, becoming tearful with Sharon and admitting she was going to leave.
She added: "All I'll do if I stay here is turn into mum. I'm just haunting the place and you know it."
"It's different for you and Ian, you're not the same as you were back in the day.
"You've built lives and a future, what am I building?"
But nothing Sharon said could convince her to stay.
She said: "I'm going to see Vicky and Mark and then I'm going travelling for a bit and try to get my head straight."
"I don't want to live in the past anymore," she added after spending the episode convincing Sharon and Mel that she hadn't tried to seduce Hunter.
The Sun revealed how bosses decided to write the character out after she was deemed to be "going nowhere".
An EastEnders spokeswoman said: “Jenna is a terrific actress who has loved her time on the show playing Michelle but it was a mutual decision to write the character out.
"We wish Jenna all the best for the future.”
