Ronnie Wood silences trolls and says Rolling Stones won’t stop performing until they are physically unable to
The guitarist sought to shut down trolls who call for the legendary band to stop gigging ahead of their 14-date No Filter European tour
THEY’VE been rocking for almost six decades and have 25 albums under their belts – but don’t expect to see the Rolling Stones calling it a day just yet.
The band’s guitarist Ronnie Wood has vowed to carry on touring with bandmates Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Charlie Watts until they can physically no longer perform.
In an exclusive interview ahead of their 14-date No Filter European tour, Ronnie dished out some harsh words to online trolls who tell them to give up gigging.
He said: “I say get off your a*** and get working while you can.
“We ignore all that. We’re still in our element and will go on for as long as possible.
“We enjoy what we do and so do our fans.
“Look how many people around the world want to come and see us.
“But being in front of home fans is special.”
And some of those fans attending the gigs at the London Stadium will be in for an extra treat.
I can reveal that Florence Welch will be joining the rockers on stage for one of the capital’s two concerts. She performed alongside them in 2012 at London’s O2 Arena, duetting with Mick on Gimme Shelter.
Superfan Florence will also no doubt be interested in the latest developments for the Stones musical, which is in the pipeline.
Talking about their new stage adventure, Ronnie said: “I’d love to do it but these things are all still going on. We’ve got an exhibition cooking away. I’ve just opened that in Nashville.”
Meanwhile, Ronnie will be making sure to pack the nappies when he heads off on tour this time round — for his twin toddlers Gracie and Alice.
Speaking at the Olivier Awards in London this month with his wife Sally Humphreys, he gushed: “The girls are coming on tour with us.
“They already play all kinds of xylophones, drums and guitars.”
That’s the next generation of Stones sorted then.

Destiny for Beyonce
IF there’s one singer guaranteed to drain the batteries of millennials’ smartphones – it’s Beyonce.
The global superstar once again became a viral sensation as she headlined Coachella for the first time – and reunited Destiny's Child in the process.
Queen B took to the stage with former bandmates Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams just as they did at the Super Bowl in 2013.
The trio performed a string of hit tracks including Lose My Breath, Say My Name and Soldier.
Earlier in Beyonce’s show-stopping set, she teamed up for a duet with husband Jay Z– and after the Destiny’s Child reunion also staged a dance battle with her sister Solange.
The singer brought out a host of A-List stars for her incredible performance – including Shania Twain, who made an unlikely new group of pals.
The country singer posed in a VIP backstage snap alongside the likes of The Weeknd, Nav, French Montana, Quavo and Nicki Minaj – who sported some striking facial jewellery which I’ve tried out, top.

Bieb top of the cops
Justin Bieber is never far from drama.
Now he has been involved in a ruck at a party hosted by Patrick Schwarzenger.
Thankfully for Justin, he wasn’t taking on Patrick’s Terminator star dad Arnie, but a fellow guest.
It’s claimed he punched a man he accused of assaulting a woman during the US bash at the weekend.
Onlookers say the man had grabbed his female victim by the throat before Justin stepped in.
The man was thrown out of the party but later tried to track down Justin on the roads outside before cops arrested him.
I doubt he’ll feature on Justin’s next album.

Kammy a karaoke warrior
TELLY favourite and wannabe crooner Chris Kamara has set up a bar in Tenerife . . . and it’s not just an excuse for him to belt out his favourite tunes.
The Ninja Warrior presenter revealed that Cliff Richard has performed at his holiday haunt, called Hole In The Wall, as well as Irish singer Daniel O'Donnell.
In an exclusive interview, Chris said: “I’ve been known to sing in there, yes.
“We’ve had Cliff Richard sing in there and Daniel O’Donnell too. Daniel sings every time he’s over in Tenerife.”
The footie pundit has belted out a tune or two over the years on telly and lent his vocals to Euro 2012 charity single Sing 4 England.
But he has no plans to serenade punters over here and won’t be opening a UK branch of his bar any time soon.

That is despite the venture having financial backing from ex-boxing champ Ricky Hatton.
Chris said: “I don’t get to spend loads of time there but I like helping out. I’ve got two partners in with me. There’s no hope of me opening an English one, though. My wife hates it.”
If Kammy were to compere every night, I’m sure she’d change her mind.
