Richard Gere, 68, set to marry Spanish girlfriend, 35, next month as star ties knot for third time
The 68-year-old actor is to wed girlfriend Alejandra Silva next month, according to new reports
RICHARD Gere is set to marry his Spanish girlfriend next month, according to new reports.
The 68-year-old Pretty Woman star has been dating Alejandra Silva, 35, for three years.
According to Spanish newspaper ABC, the couple will wed in Washington DC on May 5.
Gere has been married twice before, to supermodel Cindy Crawford from 1991 until 1995 and model Carey Lowell from 2002 until 2016.
He and Carey had one son called Homer who is now 17.
Meanwhile, Alejandra was in the middle of divorcing her first husband Govind Friedland when she met the Hollywood star.
Govind and Alejandra have their son Albert together.
Reports that the couple had got engaged started circulating last December when she was seen sporting a diamond ring on her wedding finger.
When asked about getting married last year, Alejandra said: "I am recently divorced. As far as a legal wedding, no, but maybe we’ll have a celebration.
"You know, the perfect couple is made of two people who can be what the other needs. I’m living the type of life you see in the movies, truly."
Alejandra works as an activist and it's believed the pair bond over their passion for human rights.
Richard has said: "Our karma was attracted when we saw each other."
Speaking in 2016, she told magazine Hola about their relationship saying: "Richard has been my hero in real life. “I was a little lost, without light, and meeting him gave sense to my life."
