A MAGICIAN reduces Ant McPartlin to tears on tonight’s show — because his story about his wife’s struggle to conceive through IVF was so close to home.

Ant burst into tears backstage after Marc Spelmann told how wife Tessa had seven rounds of IVF to try to get pregnant before being diagnosed with breast cancer.

She had chemotherapy and both she and the baby survived.

Marc and Tessa are now proud parents to two-year-old daughter Isabella.

But his story hit Ant hard.

He and estranged wife Lisa were together for 23 years, wed for 11, but faced a heartbreaking struggle to start a family.

Speaking in 2013, Ant said: “We’d love to have kids. We’re trying.

"It’s tougher than you think when you get a bit older.”

The filming was done before Ant's drink driving arrest and subsequent charge.

Newly released clips show the TV host looking troubled and at times drained, but putting on a brave face.
