BOY George says he hopes his ancestors belonged to a "gypsy clan" as he revealed his grandma was found abandoned and walking the streets in Ireland when she was just six years old.
The singer, 56, confirmed he was to feature on Who Do You Think You Are? as he appeared on This Morning to talk about his upcoming tour with Culture Club.
Host Eamonn Holmes asked the star if it was true he was appearing on the BBC's celebrity ancestry show.
Boy George replied: "Yes I'm really excited about it because I don't know anything about it.
"Obviously I know my relatives in Ireland, but I don't know the history.
"My mum's mother was found wandering the streets at six and that's all we know. She was put in a home.
"We know nothing about her, so it will be so interesting."
Eamonn interjected: "I have to say, if they have signed you up, there is a story to tell."
The 80s icon replied: "There's got to be some wrong'uns in there.
"I hope we come from a gypsy clan. I'm looking forward to it!"
The singer appeared on the show shortly after Kerry Katona who wore a maroon wig for the occasion.
She was interviewed about her bipolar disorder as Eamonn told her he found her a "pain in the arse" when they first met.

He said: “You’re one of my favourite people, and you know you are, and I worked with you for many, many years and I didn’t know you had a drugs problem or anything else, I just thought you were a pain in the arse!
“There was a thing we did and professionally you caused a problem as you turned up really late – and I’m talking six, seven hours for a rehearsal, and there was a whole crew standing by, but I remember thinking, I couldn’t not like you.”
Kerry laughed and admitted that did in fact happen.
