Seven Year Switch’s Tony begged Gemma to move back home as they admit relationship is STILL a struggle with daily rows a YEAR on from the show
Life outside of the show has come easy and, in an exclusive interview with The Sun Online, the childhood sweethearts said while they’re determined to stay together it takes a lot of work
With daily rows and the pressures of family life threatening to drag them down, Tony and Gemma are positive they can work through their issues.
Viewers were stunned when the couple, who have two children, admitted Tony had moved out of the family home because it was making their relationship worse.
But they’ll be pleased to know Gemma and Tony are now back under the same roof.
Gemma explained: “I was hard to allow Tony to move back in. He'd betrayed my trust. Telling me he didn't want to be there and then saying, yes I do.
“I worried he'd do it again. It took me a long time to make me realise and he had to show me he was trying. To put everything we learnt into practice, we had to be together.”
Both praised the process and said the long hours of counselling and therapy that weren’t shown on TV saved their relationship.
Tony said: “It’s still baby steps for us a year on.
“I’d love to say once a month we did a date night but we don't. With the reality as it is, life gets in the way.

“We try and make a conscious effort. We have let it slip since we came back but we’re trying our hardest.
“We argue like every couple. We even had an argument today. I'd be a moron to say we wouldn't argue anymore. I still struggle with not arguing.”
Out of the four couples who appeared on the show, two have split and are in the process of sorting their divorce.
