Who was Timmy Matley?
Timothy Thomas "Timmy" Matley, 36, was born on February 16, 1982 and was a singer from Cork, Ireland.
Timmy got into performing arts at the age of 14, and at 16 years old he came to London to audition for a performing arts school.
Timmy was the lead singer of The Overtones, originally called DYYCE and Lexi Joe, with Mark Franks, Mike Crawshaw and Darren Everest.
They auditioned for The X Factor in 2009, but were rejected from the final top 24. They later became a five-piece outfit after Lachie Chapman joined.
In 2016 the band toured with stage show That's Entertainment and then a Christmas tour, but Timmy was forced to pull out due to ill health.
What was Timmy Matley's cause of death?
Timmy's death was announced on April 11, 2018.
He had been battling cancer after he was diagnosed with stage three malignant melanoma in 2016, which is a form of skin cancer - however, this was NOT his cause of death.
On October 3, 2018 it was revealed Timmy died after falling from a balcony while “high on crystal meth”.
The singer died on impact after falling from a flat in London.
In a report published, Poplar Coroner’s Court told his cause of death had been “determined as a drug-related accident.”
A coroner is also reported to have told the publication he took Class A drug crystal meth before plunging to his death.

The band released this statement on Twitter: "It is with the greatest sadness that we have to announce that our dear friend and brother Timmy has passed away.
"We know this news will be as heartbreaking for you all as it is for us.
"We appreciate your love and support at this difficult time. Mike, Darren, Mark & Lachie x"
On April 23, 2018 they raised a toast to their late bandmate with five shots - they posted a pic on Instagram captioned "To our brother...💚."
