Former Strictly star James Jordan fears he’s ‘firing blanks’ after trying for a baby with Ola
FORMER Strictly Come Dancing star James Jordan has admitted he's worried that he's "firing blanks" as he tries for a baby with wife Ola.
It comes after the couple exclusively told The Sun On Sunday that they're trying for their first child.
The pro dancers decided to start a family after they were forced to put off their nationwide tour after James suffered an agonising injury while practising.
When asked by Star magazine if they were worried about "leaving it too late" to have children "because of their careers", James admitted it was a worry.
He said: "I think we'd both agree that had we not been involved in Strictly for so many years we'd have had children earlier.
"You don't know until you start trying. I could be firing blanks!"
However, Ola said they haven't been spending a lot of time together because she's a judge on the show in Poland.
She said: "At the moment I'm flying in and out of Holland to judge Dancing With The Stars, so I'm not home much."
James added: "Put it this way, if Ola gets pregnant in the foreseeable future we'll be very happy."
The 39-year-old also said he'll be "a pushy parent, but not in dancing".
Ola previously told The Sun that she took James' hernia operation and the need to postpone their tour as a sign that they should start trying.
She said: "James and I have always said that we would really like to start a family, but the time has never been quite right before.
“When I left Strictly two years ago I thought I was ready, but I was offered I’m A Celebrity, and that lead to other jobs I felt I couldn’t turn down.
“There was always something, but at the same time having children was always in the back of my mind. It has been this missing part in our lives.

“So when we had to call off the tour this year, I thought it was a sign.
"I believe everything happens for a reason, and we’re not getting any younger.
“I didn’t want to be one of those people who spends years working, but wakes up one day and thinks: ‘Oh my God, I forgot. Now it’s too late’."
