MEL B has reportedly signed a deal to release a tell-all book in which she will "set the record straight" following her bitter break-up from "abusive" ex-husband Stephen Belafonte.

According to The Bookseller, the former Spice Girl has agreed to write a follow-up to her 2003 memoir, Catching A Fire, in light of her high-profile divorce.

The new title is said to be called Brutally Honest and is scheduled to be published in November.

The America's Got Talent Judge said of the autobiography: "I have kept silent for a decade, but after a very public court case, I want to set the record straight.

"This book will show that abuse can happen to anyone.

"It is important that my three girls, who I raise as a single mother, know how to break the chain of abuse—along with any other woman who reads this book."

It also promises to delve into her relationships with "domineering and controlling men".

Rumours of Mel's memoir first swirled last December, with publishers eager for her to sign a deal.
